Overview

Rubber Lined Clip - 20 - 25Mm

The Rubber Lined Clip (20 - 25mm)  is a heavy-duty, zinc-plated steel fixing designed for securing pipework with an outside diameter (OD) between 20mm and 25mm. This range makes it the standard choice for 22mm copper pipe, 25mm MDPE, or 20mm/25mm plastic systems.

The integrated EPDM rubber lining provides acoustic insulation by dampening mechanical vibrations and noise, which helps prevent "pipe hum" and "water hammer."

Key Technical Specifications

Clamping Range: 20mm to 25mm.

Material: High-tensile galvanized steel with EPDM rubber lining.

Mounting Thread: Dual-tapped head (M8/M10) for use with threaded rods or wall backplates.

Thermal Expansion: The rubber lining allows the pipe to move slightly as it expands and contracts, reducing stress on joints.

Quantity: Typically supplied in a Pack of 10.

Common Applications

22mm Copper Pipe: The primary use case for domestic heating and hot water flow/return pipes.

25mm MDPE: Ideal for securing incoming mains water pipes where they enter the building.

Vibration Isolation: Essential when mounting pipes near pumps, boilers, or in luxury residential projects where noise reduction is a priority.

Installation Best Practices

Mounting: Use an M8 or M10 threaded rod to space the pipe away from the wall, or screw the clip directly into a backplate.

Alignment: For 22mm copper, ensure the clips are spaced every 1.2m to 1.5m on horizontal runs to prevent sagging.

Tightening: Secure the two side screws until the rubber lining firmly grips the pipe. Avoid over-compressing the rubber, as this can reduce its acoustic dampening effectiveness.
