Compression Nut - 15Mm
Code:C1143
SKU:C1143
Overview
Compression Nut - 15Mm
The Brass Compression Nut (15mm) is an essential component of a standard mechanical compression fitting. It is designed to be tightened onto the fitting body, physically compressing the olive onto the pipe to form a secure, watertight, and pressure-resistant seal without the use of heat or solder.
Key Features and Installation Details
Compliance: Manufactured to standard specifications (e.g., BS EN 1254 or BS 864-2), ensuring compatibility with all standard brass and chrome 15mm compression fittings.
Material: Constructed from durable Brass, providing excellent thread strength and corrosion resistance.
Configuration: Nut – A threaded component with a hexagonal head for tool engagement. Its internal bore is sized to slide over a 15mm pipe and capture a compression olive.
Size: 15mm – Designed to work with the 15mm compression threads found on couplers, elbows, tees, and valves.
Function: When spun onto the thread of the compression fitting body and tightened, it drives the compression olive forward, crushing it against the pipe to create the seal.
Installation Method: Heat-Free Mechanical Seal – Requires a wrench or spanner to tighten.
The Installer's Advantage
Compression nuts are frequently required as spares or replacements. They are often lost, cross-threaded, or damaged during installation or disassembly. Having spare nuts on hand is crucial for completing quick repairs or modifications using mechanical fittings.
Essential Companion Products (Compression System)
To successfully create a permanent, leak-proof compression joint using this nut, the following materials are required:
Pipe: Requires 15mm pipe for the connection: Copper Tube 15mm x 0.7mm x 3m
Olive: Required to create the seal: Compression Copper Olive 15mm
