The water pressure switch is responsible for monitoring the water pressure within the boiler or heating system. Its main function is to ensure that the system maintains adequate water pressure for safe and efficient operation. If the water pressure drops below or exceeds the safe operating range, the water pressure switch will trigger a response, such as shutting down the boiler to prevent damage or unsafe conditions. The Grant low pressure switch kit is intended for use on domestic sealed heating systems and, if correctly installed, will shut off the boiler and burner if the system pressure drops below 0.2 bar.
