Overview

Keyplumb Castellated Ufh Panel For 16Mm Pipe - 1250 X 850

The Keyplumb Castellated UFH Panel is a high-performance floor plate designed to simplify the installation of 16mm underfloor heating pipework. These panels act as both a layout guide and a protective carrier, featuring "castellations" (raised studs) that allow the pipe to be "clicked" into place at precise centers without the need for staples or clips.

Measuring 1250mm x 850mm, these panels are ideal for "screeded" floor systems, providing a professional and uniform pipe layout that ensures even heat distribution across the floor surface.

Key Features and Specifications

Dimensions: 1250mm x 850mm per panel.

Pipe Compatibility: Specifically designed for 16mm Outside Diameter (OD) pipe, such as 16mm PERT-AL-PERT.

Material: High-impact recycled polystyrene with a moisture-resistant overlapping edge.

Pipe Spacing: Allows for flexible pipe centers—typically 50mm increments (e.g., 100mm, 150mm, or 200mm spacing).

Installation Method: The panels feature an interlocking "stud-to-stud" edge for easy connection across large floor areas.

Why Use Castellated Panels?

No Specialized Tools: Because the studs hold the pipe in place, you don't need a Tacker Gun or manual staples. This is especially useful when fixing to insulation that is too thin or too dense for standard clips.

Speed and Precision: The molded grid ensures perfectly straight runs and consistent 180-degree bends, which is critical for achieving the design heat output of the room.

Screed Protection: The panel raises the pipe slightly, allowing the screed to fully encapsulate the pipework for maximum thermal transfer.

One-Man Install: The "push-fit" nature of the studs makes it much easier for a single installer to lay complex loop patterns.

Installation Tips

Subfloor Preparation: Ensure the subfloor (usually rigid insulation) is flat and free of debris. The panels should be laid in a staggered pattern to increase the stability of the floor zone.

Overlapping: Utilize the integrated overlapping edges to create a continuous barrier. This prevents the screed from seeping under the panels and causing "floating" during the pour.

Bending: When turning the 16mm pipe, use the studs as a guide to maintain the minimum bend radius, ensuring the pipe isn't stressed or kinked.

Essential Companion Products

Pipework: UFH 100m x 16mm PERT-AL-PERT Coil.

Manifold Connection: Keyplumb 16mm Eurocone Adaptors.

Pump & Blending: Grundfos UPM3 Flex 25-70 Pump and the 1" Mixing Valve.

Specialist Support and Local Collection

Castellated panels are a bulky item. We offer local collection from our trade counter at 61 Fullers Road, E18 2QB. Our team can help calculate the exact number of panels required for your square meterage, including a 5–10% allowance for cutting and waste.
